R.Ferri Motorsport and AIM Autosport RACING WITH FERRARI

It’s always exciting to get a message from my friend Andrew Bordin, because I know it will involve auto racing.  He recently asked me to photograph the media event launching his latest entry into the 2013 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.  His company AIM Autosport is the reigning 2012 GT Champion and they recently joined forces with R. Ferri Motorsport to form R.Ferri Motorsport and AIM Autosport RACING WITH FERRARI.

Hosted by Ferrari of Ontario/Alberta President Remo Ferri, the event featured a first look at the team’s new Ferrari 458 Italia GT Grand Am race car, as well as the announcement of the drivers for the No. 61 entry.  Veteran driver Max Papis will drive with two-time and reigning Rolex Series GT Champion Jeff Segal. Also in attendance was Marco Mattiacci, President & CEO of Ferrari North America who helped unveil the all new 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta at a private reception later that evening.  Here are some more photos from the event:

Medical College of Wisconsin Healthcare Dinner 2012

Earlier this month I was in Milwaukee to photograph the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Center for Digestive Disease Healthcare 2012 Dinner.  The annual event was held at the Pfister Hotel’s Grand Ballroom and is sponsored by the Digestive Disease Center Board; a group of 33 community leaders who raise awareness of digestive diseases and funds for research.

The event honoured community leaders Jon and Ann Hammes, who received the 2012 Warren P. Knowles Humanitarian Award.  This award is given annually to an outstanding individual or organization from Wisconsin whose life or work demonstrates a significant commitment to health-related issues.

This year’s keynote speaker was legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw.  He discussed his newest book The Time of Our Lives  and answered some questions afterwards.  The event raised over $200,000 for digestive disease research.

Textile Museum of Canada – reDesign 2012

What do you get when you invite 40 artists, designers and architects to re-imagine some classic Eames-style chairs?  An evening filled with some creative and imaginative art pieces.  This year’s reDesign 2012, put on by the Textile Museum of Canada, was held in the Oval Square, in the shops at Hazelton Lanes.  The gala evening included a silent auction in support of the Textile Museum of Canada.  Here are some more photos from the event.

Pizzeria Libretto Goes Underground

Ever since I met my good friends Gary and Max from Pizzeria Libretto over two decades ago, two things always come to mind. They love food, and they love attention to detail.  So when they asked me to shoot the launch of their new cellar bar and party space, I didn’t hesitate and I went hungry!  The space is located in the basement of the Danforth location, and offers a warm modern atmosphere that caters to all types of events.  There is even a private dining room available complete with a carving station.  Samples of their award winning real Neapolitan pizza and signature assaggini from the menu were tasted along with some great wines and micro brews.
