Earlier this month I was in Milwaukee to photograph the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Center for Digestive Disease Healthcare 2012 Dinner. The annual event was held at the Pfister Hotel’s Grand Ballroom and is sponsored by the Digestive Disease Center Board; a group of 33 community leaders who raise awareness of digestive diseases and funds for research.
The event honoured community leaders Jon and Ann Hammes, who received the 2012 Warren P. Knowles Humanitarian Award. This award is given annually to an outstanding individual or organization from Wisconsin whose life or work demonstrates a significant commitment to health-related issues.
This year’s keynote speaker was legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw. He discussed his newest book The Time of Our Lives and answered some questions afterwards. The event raised over $200,000 for digestive disease research.
