The Junction Craft Brewery have expanded their production facilities by moving into The Destructor on Symes Road. Originally built in 1934 by legendary architect R.C. Harris, The Symes is a Heritage-designated Art Deco building originally used as a city of Toronto incinerator. This is where it earned the name “The Destructor”. It was later used by the city as a waste transfer station.

It is now the city’s newest event venue featuring over 9,700 square feet of combined space. The brewery is part of three large rooms which can accommodate from 50 to 350 guests for weddings, fundraisers, launch parties, social and corporate functions. They have partnered with some of Toronto’s best and most innovative culinary group of caterers and event service providers to make your event extraordinary.

“The First” Party 2012 Toronto International Film Festival

Earlier this week I was asked to photograph an event on opening night of the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival being held at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.  The party hosted by filmmakers Julie Pacino, Jennifer DeLia and Said Zahraoui, was in celebration of their upcoming Mary Pickford film, The First.  The film will star actress Lily Rabe as Pickford and Michael Pitt as Owen Moore, Pickford’s first husband.  The First is being produced by Julie Pacino and Jennifer DeLia’s Poverty Row Entertainment with DeLia as director.  Production on The First starts next year. Music was provided by DJ Ebony Bones and DJ Brendan Canning.  Here are some photos from the event.

Triple A: Art Auction for Autism

For the past few months I have been volunteering my time and services to the Geneva Centre for Autism on the steering committee for The 3rd Annual AUTISTS Gala.  It will be a great night filled with food, fun and fundraising to help youth with autism access job training, summer employment and post-secondary pathways.  I will be shooting the event and also donating a framed print of my Colosseo photograph to the art auction, which will be offerring worthy collector pieces.

To get your tickets visit www.theautistsgala.com.  It is a night not to be missed!
